This “moderno” design is much more minimalistic than Don Isaac’s other rugs, but nevertheless it is just as impressive. This rug would be a feature in any home especially in rooms with minimalist or modern theme. The appeal of this rug is in its simplicity and colour. The small bands of a colourful pattern are complimented by two bands of open flowing trellis design set on a plain background for maximum effect. This rug comes in a variety of background colours to suit individual taste. The rug is hand-woven using only 100% wool and although not so time consuming as the more detailed designs it still takes a long time to prepare the natural dyes and weave by hand.
The rug is made using traditional Zapotec methods under the supervision of Don Isaac Vásquez, the man credited with reviving the disappearing pre-Hispanic techniques, along with famous Mexican artist Francisco Toledo.
