Product Description

A classic hand woven 100% wool Zapotec diamond design rug, which has a subdued green as the prominent colour, and a pattern of coloured diamonds. It would suit tiled or carpeted floors alike and the intricacy of the ancient zapotec symbols reflects the quality of weave. The detail of the design makes its weaving a very time consuming process, as the bundles of wool constantly have to be changed.

The rug is made using traditional Zapotec methods under the supervision of Don Isaac Vásquez, the man credited with reviving the disappearing pre-Hispanic techniques, along with famous Mexican artist Francisco Toledo.
