This attractive multi-coloured rug would be a fun addition to any room with its cheerful pattern and vibrant colours. The design has a collection of brightly coloured rectangles divided by a sequence of traditional patterns and framed with a deep blue border. It evokes a feeling of the Mexican sunshine and fun. The detail of the design makes its weaving a very time consuming process, as the bundles of wool constantly have to be changed.
This rug is made using traditional Zapotec methods under the supervision of Don Isaac Vásquez, the man credited with reviving the disappearing pre-Hispanic techniques, along with famous Mexican artist Francisco Toledo
