Product Description
The gentle autumn colours woven into this classic design give a warm, comfortable, and homely feel to this rug. The bands of larger traditional shapes are interspersed with bands of a smaller patterns, and these combine to make the rug both interesting and inviting. Hand-woven using only 100% wool the detail of the design makes the weaving a very time consuming process, as the bundles of wool constantly have to be changed.
The rug is made using traditional Zapotec methods under the supervision of Don Isaac Vasquez, the man credited with reviving the disappearing pre-Hispanic techniques, along with famous Mexican artist Francisco Toledo.
