The Alonso Luis Talavera hand painted ceramic water jug shown here in the Imperial design is just about the most attractively proportioned water jug you will find, to the point where you may want to put it on a shelf for decoration. When placed on the table this jug has presence, its shape being so perfectly proportioned. It combines tremendous practicality with elegance and is a very traditional piece. The jug is decorated with a hand painted blue design and quarter florets on a background of gentle lattice and pale blue flowers, and is complimented by a deep blue handle and rim. The jug also features the floral motif found on the coffee pot and sugar bowl.
