The Alonso Luis Talavera hand painted ceramic round serving dish with lid shown here in the Imperial design is a beautifully proportioned dish and a delightful addition to any table setting. Known in Mexico as a cacerola this dish would be perfect to serve a casserole to guests, but is not suitable for oven-cooking. Equally well suited for serving hot buttered vegetable or rice this versatile dish will be sure to attract comment. Dark blue handles on either side of the dish compliment its proportions and add to ease of serving. The dish and lid are hand painted with the quarter florets, characteristic of the Imperial design, and behind the main motifs are backgrounds of gentle blue lattice and subdued blue cornflowers.
