The Alonso Luis Talavera hand painted ceramic deep round serving dish shown here in the Botanero Ingles design is known in Mexico as an Ensaladera, and as the name might suggest is used primarily for salads. This wheel spun bowl would however equally well accommodate potatoes, vegetables or rice and is a very practical deep serving dish. The exterior is decorated with hand painted floral and blue motifs with a small delicate pattern below. Inside a small yellow border just below the rim accentuates the shape of the dish.
