The Alonso Luis Talavera hand painted ceramic fluted serving dish shown here in the Botanero Ingles design, has what is known colloquially as the ‘wow’ factor. In Mexico this dish, known as a cazuela, is traditionally used to serve food that is saturated in a sauce. Whilst the English menu doesn’t contain anything of this sort, this incredible dish could just as easily be used to serve vegetables, rice or salad. This most unusual shape dish delights everyone who sees it and the broad fluted edge gives the impression of a flower opening to the sun. The interior and exterior are decorated with hand painted floral and blue motifs with a small delicate pattern below. Dark blue handles compliment the shape which is bordered by a deep blue rim.
